Simple Camera Rig @hypoly for Cinema 4D

Hyploy.com published a simple Camera Rig for Cinema 4D. You can download it here. These rig are quite useful in terms of animating the camera.
I haven't looked at this one but will in my next project.

Thanks to Hyploy!

Cinema 4D PlugIn: Sequence sorting

Today I found a really useful plugin for Cinema 4D. (Thanks to @graymachine)
"Sequence sorting" will sort your rendered image sequences in sub folders to provide some kind of organization.
Just copy the plugin into the plugin folder in your Cinema4D application folder. Restart Cinema and it should be in your plug in menu.
After rendering some image sequences just launch the plug in. Choose Source and target and let it do it's magic.

Tested it on a sequence and it worked with C4D 11.5

Big "Thank you" to Johannes.

Winning the Pariah Studios render Contest

Robert Redman of Pariah Studios started a CG render contest on Facebook. You had to post your best render to win a copy of the unreleased C4D plug in Planet X Generator.
I am happy to announce that I won this contest with my "Coffee Cup" render.

Thanks Rob for picking me.
I never thought of winning this competition.
There are some great renders from other people. Head over to the Pariah Studios Fanpage and take a look at them.

Advanced Depth of Field Controller for AE

By the way:

I found the exact same idea I did for my Cinema 4D DOF controller at MotionScript.com for AE.
It's a simple expression dealing with the problem of focusing on moving objects which are not in 90 degrees to the cam.

Just copy and past the expression and it should work.

Cinema 4D Depth of Field Controller Update

Today I had some time to play around with my first xpresso project again: Cinema 4D DOF Controller.
I change some nodes in the calculation and I guess I am getting closer. I wanted to be able to move the camera and the DOF Null around and animate them. With the first test I did a couple of weeks ago I was able to move them but the null has to be in 90 degrees to the camera.
In the updated version I am able to move the null around where ever I want, except behind the camera. But this limitation is ok for me.
Everything looks alright in the viewport. But during a test animation I saw that the distance is wrong sometimes. If you pause the animation and click in the viewport the distance indicator snaps back in the right place.

It looks like the xpresso calculation is not fast enough to calculate it in real time.
I opened a topic for that over at the mograph.net forum (LINK)

I hope to solve the problem as soon as possible.
If you like you can download the DOF file. Just follow the link to the forum.

New tutorial coming: ReelSmart Motion Blur

Yesterday I recorded a new tutorial:
It will cover some of the workflow with using Cinema 4D/After Effects and ReelSmart Motion Blur to add motion blur in AE.
The benefit with this technic is the render speed and the control you get compared to C4D motion Blur.

Check it out. Soon on Motionworks!

Video: Logo Animation

Here is a small animation I did today. Just wanted to test out some ideas in Cinema 4D and After Effects.
Enjoy.

DOF Controller in C4D

At the moment I am working on my first Cinema 4D project including Xpresso.
I try to set up an DOF Controller to make it easier to animate the target distance of the camera.
It's kind of the same setup like in After Effects:
Create a Null and use that Null as the "Focus Point".

The Xpresso setup includes a bit of math and geometry to calculate the distance. Quite hard to remember all that stuff from school.
I will let you know when the project is finished and ready to use.
